Dragonflies have been special to me ever since I was a little girl. My soon-to-become very dear friend, Lauren, and I were waiting in the teacher's lounge of the grammar school for our respective mothers to pick us up after classes had let out. We were sitting self consciously, occasionally eying one another, when a dazzling green dragonfly flew right between us and landed on the window behind us. We both ran to the window and were fascinated by the creature as we spun fanciful stories and scenarios around it, and thereby sealing a friendship that has lasted well into four decades. It is for this reason that the dragonfly has come to represent lasting and enduring friendship to me.

This special pendant measures 3/4" in diameter and hangs from an elegant sterling silver snake chain with lobster claw clasp. The pendant is made using precious metal clay which, once fired, turns to fine silver (99.9% pure silver as opposed to sterling silver which is 92.5% silver) then a dark patina was added to give accent to the raised dragonfly.
